Research Activity

Paolo Uva is a researcher in the Bioinformatics group at the Center for Advanced Studies, Research and Development in Sardinia (CRS4) since April 2009.
He started working of microarray technology, then he focused on the analysis of data generated with massive sequencing technology in diverse scientic contexts (e.g. variant identification, non coding RNA). Current research activities are focused on the genetic basis of inherited disorders using exome sequencing.

Recent Professional Experience
  • 2009-present: Researcher at CRS4
  • 2006-2009: Researcher at IRBM-Merck, Rome, working on gene expression data analysis, chip design and biomarker development
  • 2004-2005: Post-doc at the University of Rome La Sapienza, Rome, working on gene-expression data analysis in Yeast and Arabidopsis
  • 2003-2004: Post-doc at the University of Lausanne, Switwerland, working on ESTs clustering and annotation
  • 2004: Master in Bioinformatics at the University of Geneva and Lausanne, Switzerland
  • 2002: PhD Thesis in Molecular Phylogeny at the University of Tours, France
  • 1999: MSc in Biology at the University of Rome La Sapienza, Rome
