Another success for CRS4 Bioinformatica in the international DREAM 2011 competition
The DREAM project is an international initiative which aims at unbiased evaluation of the algorithms for systems biology data analysis. Annually, the DREAM organizes a set of challenges in which teams from all over the world can enter to try out their algorithms. The participants receive experimental data from which they need to make prediction.

New paper in Nature Biotechnology co-authored by CRS4 Bioinformatica researcher
Systems biology aims to provide a mechanistic understanding of biological systems from high-throughput data. Besides its intrinsic scientific value, such understanding will accelerate product design and development, facilitate health policy decisions and may reduce the need for long-term clinical trials.

CRS4 Bioinformatica researcher at “Critical Assessment of Systems Biology” symposium
Systems Biology embodies a new paradigm that focuses on biology as the sum of complex interactions rather than discovery of individual components (holism versus reductionism). High throughput and genome wide methods, as well as computational representations of biological networks, are important enablers of Systems Biology.
